FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of mechanical engineering and may be used in manufacturing shaped grinding-wheels of superhard materials on metallic bonds. Preliminary shaping of working surface is made through bond thermal destruction during electroerosion action on wheel surface. Then final shaping by plastic deformation of working surface using crush roll. Plastic deformation of wheel bond is performed with radial force P determine from formula: P=Dkbg2/0.126E(Dk/dp+1), where - Dk - outer diametre of grinding-wheel; b - width of wheel contact with crushing roll; q -maximum pressure during crushing equal to (1.8…2.2) σt , where σt -yield point of bond material; dp - outer diametre of crush roll; E - elasticity modulus of bond material. Number of cycles n of loading with radial force P is limited to the range n=10…15.
EFFECT: wheel shaping accuracy and dimensional resistibility is improved due to creation of smooth cutting profile and forming cold-worked top layer of wheel working surface.
