FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of mechanical engineering, specifically to design of motor-axle bearings used in railway transport locomotives. Locomotive motor-axle bearing contains inserts and lubrication system on wheel pair axle. The bearing is made with solid inserts, without opening and side coolers grooves, thereby increasing bearing working surface and lowering specific pressure in the working zone of adhesion to axle. Hereat, lubricant is fed from batching lubricator through lubricating hole at top point of lower (inner) insert assembly from which spreading lubricating grooves (e.g. X-shaped) are milled throughout the length to lubricate friction pair. To collect contaminated lubricant in lower zone of upper (outer) insert, longitudinal oil-sump groove is milled for its disposal and bearing supporting shoulder lubrication.
EFFECT: increase in wearability and durability of bearing and wheel pair axle (as friction pair) operation.
