FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to generators with high phase order, and to generation of electrical power using synchronous generators, which generate power through a static frequency converter and with frequency different from mains frequency. The proposed generator (1) with high phase order contains a rotor and a stator for converting mechanical power to polyphase alternating current (6), preferably a matrix converter (3) for converting polyphase alternating current (6) to the required output alternating current (7). The stator has a core with a cylindrical drilling made in it. The stator bar has several spaced out parallel slots, lying on an axis along the stator bar and open at the side of the drilling. Several stator bars are put into the stator slots. The stator windings which generate phases of polyphase alternating current (6) are connected by a delta circuit. Polyphase alternating current (6) has more than three phases. Also invented is a method of operating such a device and modification of a "star" connected stator.
EFFECT: significant decrease in distortion of output spectra, as well as flexibility of frequency band.
