FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with proposed method, pipes to be welded together are arranged so that their end faces form a circular gap. Clamp is revolved over the end faces of pipes and heat pressure is applied to fixed pipes to eliminate aforesaid gap. Upset-forging the pipes together allows an interference fit joint.
EFFECT: higher strength of welded joint.
