FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns thermal processing of items, particularly devices for thermal processing of small arms cartridge shells. To prevent metal oxidation and further cindering, device includes heating furnace, work cylinder with rotation drive and additional internal cylinder mounted inside the first cylinder coaxially to its longitudinal axis, with helical auger mounted tightly between them to form sealed closed auger channel between auger coils and cylinder surfaces for measured sequential travel of processed items. Gas duct for neutral gas supply to the closed auger channel is positioned inside additional internal cylinder. Device features coupling connected to gas duct to maintain constant neutral gas supply to auger channel, work cylinder features heating zone in furnace and cooling zone, and gas duct features at least one neutral gas inlet pipe leading to closed auger channel. Neutral gas inlet pipe leading to closed auger channel is mounted at the equilibrium point of gas pressure upon both sides. End sides of closed auger channel are closed by shutters at both sides.

EFFECT: efficient thermal processing of items, prevented metal oxidation and further cinder formation.
