FIELD: furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotary drum furnaces for producing light concrete filling aggregates such as expanded clay, granular foam glass, granular foam glass ceramics, as well as firing and calcining various bulk and granulated materials, e.g., porous catalysts or carriers of the catalytic layer. The furnace consists of a cylindrical drum supported by two support units, configured for the inclination of the drum do be adjusted, and is divided into three technological areas along the length: an isothermal firing area located in a stationary heating chamber equipped with a burner system, and two cantilever areas: a material heating area and a fired material cooling area, wherein the latter is located outside of the heating chamber whereto an unloading chamber is attached at the unloading end of the drum, wherein the material heating area is made in the form of a coaxial countercurrent drum heat exchanger with indirect heating of a material constituting a heat-insulated casing enveloping the outer surface of the drum in this area with a gap, forming a through inner annular channel, one end whereof communicates with the heating chamber for a possibility of heating this area with combustion products of the fuel, supplied from the heating chamber, and the other end communicated with a smoke removal chamber located at the loading end of the drum equipped with a loading assembly.
EFFECT: increased stability and controllability of the technological process, reduced bulk density of the finished product, and reduced fuel consumption per unit of the product are ensured.
