FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: exothermal mixture contains, wt %: aluminium powder 17.0-27.0, iron oxide 9.0-15.0, niter 2.0-6.0, cryolite 2.0-6.0, sodium tripoliphosphate 0.1-0.5, refractory filler 32-62.4, self-curing composition of liquid glass and complex ether hardener 7.5-13.5. Refractory filler in form of glass sand or chamotte powder additionally contains light weight fire resistant filler in ratio to volume of basic fire resistant filler 4:1 to 1:4. Mixture contains ash sphere or ground claydite as light weight filler. Exothermal mixture possesses high strength and heat insulating properties eliminating heat drying of shells.
EFFECT: reduced cycle of exothermal shell production, increased efficiency of heat effect to head zone of steel and iron castings.
