FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optico-mechanical instrument making. The thermal imager contains series-connected: recording unit in form of a matrix radiometre, optical scanning system, containing a mirror, as well as an information processing unit. According to the invention, the mirror can execute all-round conical scanning and is curved inwards in form of part of an ellipsoid of rotation, in the near focal plane of which is located the matrix radiometre. The mirror is kinematically linked to a cam gear on the axle of a stepper motor, which is fitted with a spherical bearing, joined through a coupling rod with an extra spherical bearing, the centre of which coincides with the centre of the mirror. A silent block in form of a ring is rigidly fixed to the coupling rod. The silent block is meant for limiting the rotation range of the mirror, the outer surface of which is attached to the immovable part of the equipment, and the inner surface - to the coupling rod.
EFFECT: improved space-time characteristics of the thermal imager.
