FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of air cleaning from toxic volatile substances and may be used in medicine, pharmacology, food and light industry, and also in crowded areas. Device for air cleaning comprises ioniser of pulse action, which includes serially installed unit of power supply, unit of voltage converter, unit of frequency pulses formation, control unit and unit of air cleaning. At the same time one outlet from voltage converter unit is connected to inlet of control unit, and the second one - to outlet of frequency pulse formation unit. Unit of air cleaning comprises hollow body of cylindrical shape, closed on one side with mesh of 1-3 mm2 cell, and on the other side - an electric fan is inserted in it. Inside body of cleaning unit there is an activator in the form of hollow body of cylindrical shape, in which two electrodes are installed, one of which is arranged in the form of ring, and the second one - in the form of pin, DC voltage of 1.5-10.5 kV with frequency from 1 to 60 Hz is sent to electrodes.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide for efficient cleaning of air from toxic volatile aromatic, cyclic and chlorine-containing substances, and also from formaldehyde and ammonia.
