FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to archeology and relates to a method of temporary preservation of artefacts. Cleaning and disinfection is done three times using a biocidal composition with concentration 5 to 8%. Cleaning and disinfection are combined with ultrasonic treatment at operating frequency 25 to 40 kHz and intensity 5 to 10 W/cm2, for 5 to 10 minutes. Preservation is done by depositing aerosol on the artifact, containing the following, in wt %: ethanol - 70 to 75, polyhexamethylene guanidine phosphate - 15 to 20, biocidal composition - 3 to 5, water - the rest. There is subsequent drying in an exiccator at pressure 4 to 10 mm Hg in the presence of silica gel.
EFFECT: invention allows for safe analysis of materials used while preserving outer appearance and colour of artefacts, prevents further destruction by microflora and fungi, protects the person from effects of not only microbes, but viruses as well.
