FIELD: mechanical engineering and metal working.
SUBSTANCE: proposed rest comprises draw-out barrels arranged inside the housing perpendicular to workpiece axis and accommodating rotary cylindrical rollers with their axes directed along workpiece axis. To increase machining quality, every yoke is fitted into draw-out barrel cup to rest upon ball-type end face placed at the cup bottom. Roller axis is shifted from yoke lengthwise axis towards direction of rotation of workpiece the rest supports, perpendicular to yoke lengthwise axis. Aforesaid yoke center is embraced by sleeve resting upon barrel end face. Said sleeve is arranged in the cup circular ellipsoid-shape groove, ellipsoid larger base being located along workpiece axis. Proposed rest can be furnished with screws to lock aforesaid sleeve in position inclined relative to aforesaid cup.
EFFECT: higher quality of machining.
