FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: device refers to the task of transfer of the railway sections electrified with direct current of 3.3 kV to alternating single-phase current of 27.5 kV. Method of transfer of the railway sections electrified with direct current of 3.3 kV to alternating single-phase current of 27.5 kV consists of preliminary rectification of a three-phase alternating current and of its further transformation by voltage independent inverter to single-phase current to supply electrical rolling stock. In order to rectify alternating three-phase current the existing infrastructure of direct current substations is used, starting from the input of primary supplying voltage and up to the direct current of 3.3 kV included. Device includes additionally inputted single-phase voltage inverters, outputs whereof are connected to transformers increasing the voltage to the 27.5 kV level.

EFFECT: use of the announced device will allow to decrease the costs for the demounting of the existing substations of direct current of 3,3 kV and for the further construction of the new substation of alternating current of 27,5 kV instead of old ones it will also allow decreasing the waste of energy within external supplying three-phase circuit due to the elimination of the current asymmetry; it will also decrease the losses within the overhead contact system due to the shortening of the lengths of the supply areas; it will also keep the ability to supply all non-tractive consumers.
