METHOD OF PRODUCING AROMATIC CARBONATE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC C07C68/06 C07C69/96

Abstract RU 2372322 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of producing aromatic carbonate, involving the following stages: continuous supply of aliphatic carbonate with general formula as raw material, aromatic monohydroxy compound with general formula as a reagent, and metal-containing catalyst to a step higher than the still of the first multi-stage fractionation column, in order to carry out the reaction; and continuous output of low-boiling component from the reaction system in gaseous form, containing alcohol as a by-product, and continuous output of aromatic carbonate from the bottom part of the column in liquid form, with the following general formula obtained from the raw material and reagent and, optionally, diarylcarbonate with general formula where R1 in formulae (1) and (2) is an aliphatic group with 4 to 6 carbon atoms, and Ar1 is an aromatic group with 5 to 30 carbon atoms, where R2 and Ar2 in general formula (3) are the same as R1 and Ar1 in the raw material and reagent, respectively, in which the said metal-containing catalyst in the said reaction is dissolved in liquid phase, or is present during the said reaction in liquid form, and the said metal-containing catalyst contains organic titanate with at least one Ti-O-Ti bond. The method can optionally include the following stages for continuous supply of reaction liquid into a second multi-stage fractionation column, where the reaction liquid comes from the bottom part of the first multi-stage fractionation column for disproportionation reaction in the presence of metal-containing catalyst, which is organic titanate with at least one Ti-O-Ti bond; continuous output of low-boiling component in gaseous form through fractionation, which contains aliphatic carbonate as a by-product; and continuous output of diarylcarbonate, with general formula (4), from the bottom part of the second multi-stage fractionation column in liquid form.

EFFECT: method provides for high output of desired product.
