TEST BENCH TO MAKE SPACECRAFT MECHANICAL SYSTEM WEIGHTLESS Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01M19/00

Abstract RU 2372601 C2

FIELD: space engineering, tests.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used for testing spacecraft (SC) horizontally moving mechanical systems (MS) in checking their operating performances on the ground. Proposed test bench comprises cable tensioned between supporting struts to support movable table with the help of roller. Movable mechanical system is made weightless by means of spring-loaded suspension with its one end foxed on extending MS element and the other end fixed on aforesaid movable table via hinge element. Cable is tensioned between supporting struts by turnbuckle fastened to one of aforesaid supporting struts. Cable angular position is adjusted in vertical plane relative to horizontal plane by moving one of cable ends in vertical slots made in one of supporting struts.

EFFECT: reduced loads on actuators.
