DEVICE TO MAKE WEIGHTLESS HORIZONTALLY MOVING MULTI-LINK MECHANICAL SYSTEM OF SPACECRAFT Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B64G7/00 B64G5/00

Abstract RU 2376217 C1

FIELD: aerospace engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises frame (4) fastened at upper part of spacecraft (2) and furnished with build-up bar (5). The latter is coupled, via vertical adjustable springs (6), to cause effect of weightlessness, with horizontally moving links (3) of multi-link mechanical system (1). Said links are arranged in W-like manner. Interjointed sections (7) of bar (5) support guide rope (8) suspended thereto, one rope end being fastened to sections (7), least remote from spacecraft (2), while another end is coupled with section most remote from spacecraft via special tensioning mechanism. Adjustable springs (6) interact with guide rope (8), via support element, to move along this rope. The latter is arranged below links (3) when they in operating position. Adjustable springs (6) are linked up with links (3) at points located in vertical planes of symmetry of the links. Frame (4) supports flat-topped unloading arch (11) with its two posts (12) fastened at spacecraft lower part. Multi-link mechanical system (1) is located between posts (12) of flat-topped arch (11).

EFFECT: reduced power consumption, inertial loads and overall dimensions.
