FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing phosphate material which contains iron oxides involves high-temperature processing in a reactor of charge mixture containing phosphate material and reaction components which are in form of ground and pre-heated silicon oxide and a reducing agent based on carbon, chosen from a group consisting of coke, semi-coke, coal; molten ferrophosphorus is then fed into an oxidation reactor and is oxidised with oxygen or air with formation of iron oxides and a gaseous phase containing phosphorus trioxide. Iron oxides from the oxidation reaction are returned to the reducer, and phosphorus trioxide from the gaseous phase is oxidised to phosphorus pentoxide. The subject of invention is also a device for processing phosphate material, which includes a reducer, fitted with apparatus for feeding phosphate material and reaction components, and an oxidation reactor for oxidising molten ferrophosphorus formed in the reducer with oxygen or air. The reducer and oxidation reactor are joined by two channels, lying one on top of the other, where the lower channel joins the oxidation reactor with the lower part of the reducer, and the upper channel - with the middle part of the reducer; the upper channel is inclined towards the reducer to enable return of formed iron oxides to the reducer under gravity.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the process of producing phosphorus oxides, reduced energy consumption and labour input of process operations, increased controllability of process operations, efficiency of processing phosphorites with high iron content.
