FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for producing oxides and oxygen acids of phosphorus. The method of processing molten ferrophosphorus involves oxidation of molten ferrophosphorus with oxygen or air. According to the invention, molten ferrophosphorus is oxidised with formation of iron oxides and a gaseous phase, which contains phosphorus trioxide, at temperature ranging from 1300 to 1800°C and ratio of mass flow of oxygen to mass flow of ferrophosphorus in unit time not greater than 0.63.
EFFECT: method allows for increasing efficiency of the process of producing phosphorus oxides from ferrophosphorus in form of phosphorus trioxide, reducing energy consumption and labour input of process operations.
