SUBSTANCE: in additional navigation window of coding automation program interface, document is issued, which identifies combination of geographic system elements coding rules and has functionalities that correspond to types of geographic system elements and making it possible to automate all or part of operations on coding of information about elements of these types, and facilities of browser-like navigation, which make it possible to change from description of coding rules for this type of geographic system elements to description of coding rules for other type of geographic system elements, which are structurally related to elements of this type because of common standards for systems of this type. Afterwards a place is selected in specified document, which describes coding rules for objects of that type, which has another element of geographic system, according actions are carried out for coding of information about this element, then information is coded about all or some related system elements, using automatic changeover in specified document to coding rules for neighboring elements with the help of mentioned facilities of browser-like navigation.

EFFECT: improved validity of work results on digitisation of images and reduced requirements to qualification of operators.
