FIELD: railroad transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed power absorbing device built in coupler consists of working element (tube), back link and deformable guiding cone. Said working element makes a part of coupler tail, coupler front part being press-fitted into spinneret made from comparatively hard chilled steel. Back link represents collar arranged on working element to accurate fix preset force actuating emergent shock absorber, thus, preventing premature operation of working element. Guide cone features easily deformable conical part to increase working element stroke. Aforesaid spinneret features inner cone arranged above coupler tail outer cone with clearance exceeding elastic lengthwise deformation of collar.
EFFECT: higher safety of emergent braking of train at high initial speed.
