SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a signal recording system. A recording device (200) is proposed, which has a receiver (201) for receiving an initial signal (101), with associated first information on playback time, such as a time scale for normal playback time. The receiver (200) is connected to a recording controller (203), which generates a recorded signal (301) based on the initial signal (101). The recorded signal (301) contains a discontinuity in recording with respect to the initial signal (101), caused by interruption of recording for a certain time interval, for example. The recording controller (203) is connected to a data carrier (205). The recording device (200) also contains a time processor (209) designed for generating second information on time for the recorded signal (301) in response to information on playback time and interruption in recording. The second information on time can be a compensated time scale for normal playback time or event descriptors or data flow events, with time indicators, varied such that, they correspond to the recorded signal (301).

EFFECT: improved recording system for reducing effect of disruptions in recording, with different values of normal playback time for the initial and recorded sequences of video data.
