SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering. A base station schedules one or more mobile terminals based on the expected signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) of the effective traffic channel, associated with the unscheduled mobile terminal. The expected SIR is formed by calculating the expected SIR of the probable traffic channel with a pre-filter, adapted for the unscheduled mobile terminal, which should be, if the unscheduled mobile terminal was scheduled. The base station then schedules transmission to several mobile terminals based on the expected SIR. The expected SIR can be calculated so as to compensate discrepancies between the probable traffic channel and the pilot-signal channel, associated with the unscheduled mobile terminal. Alternatively, the expected SIR can be calculated directly based on evaluation of the pre-filter of the probable traffic channel.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of evaluating possibility of transmitting a pilot-signal and traffic signals through one effective channel.
