FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: polyurethane foam is obtained by mixing a pre-polymer with foaming ingredients, containing at least one multifunctional isocyanate and water, which react releasing carbon dioxide. The pre-polymer, which has terminal hydroxyl groups, is obtained by reacting at least one polyol with less than a theoretical amount of at least one multifunctional isocyanate. The pre-polymer which is stable during storage can be obtained with low or high viscosity by choosing the corresponding amount isocyanate, which reacts with polyol. Use of more viscous pre-polymer enables regulation and setting the size of cells of the obtained foam.
EFFECT: improved strength loss characteristics and increased resistance to hydrolysed ageing.
