FIELD: physics; communications.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for providing a communication system subscriber with possibility of accessing characteristics of a current connection between a subscriber terminal and an internetwork node of the communication system, where the internetwork node forms an interface device between at least two communication networks with packet switching in the communication system. The method involves providing in the internetwork node a service portal, which offers information and control services related to registration of at least one characteristic of the current connection; and calling by a subscriber of at least one of the information and control services directly through the service portal during the current connection. The network node, terminal, system and software product are configured accordingly.
EFFECT: providing subscribers with an information portal, which can provide information on the active current connection.
