FIELD: physics; geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to geophysical exploration using acoustic methods and is meant for detecting plastically deformed salt zones in deep well columns. The method of detecting plastically deformed salt zones in a well column involves geophysical exploration using an acoustic method and spectral analysis of a wave signal. Amplitude of all spectrum components are standardised to a single maximum level conventionally taken equal to one. In order to standardise the spectrum, the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the signal in the support layer is applied, where the support layer has rocks with stable physical and mechanical properties, for example anhydrite or polyhalite, and plastically deformed salt zones in the well column are detected from attenuation of the amplitude frequency components in the high-frequency region of the spectrum of the wave acoustic signal relative the visible frequency of the emitted signal, characterised by stable spectral density when passing through zones with elastic-plastic state of the pre-well part of the salt massif.
EFFECT: faster and reliable detection of plastically deformed salt zones in well columns.
