SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument-making and can be used for controlling longitudinal motion of aircraft. To achieve the result, the current pitch angle value, banking angle, angular velocity relative the pitch axis of the aircraft, the current flight altitude and vertical speed are measured. A control signal is generated based on the functional the relationship with basic parametres for assessing the state of the aircraft. The generated control signal is transmitted to the altitude control. The true airspeed and impact air pressure are measured and height and vertical speed transfer coefficients, which provide optimum transient processes of the aircraft with respect to height in different flight modes, are generated during flight.

EFFECT: wider functional capabilities.
