FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of hand tools and in particular to tools intended for wood processing. Axe comprises handle, butt fixed on it by means of fastening bolts or wedges with web having cutting edge, where cavity is arranged, and inertia mass placed in specified cavity with the possibility of motion. Axe is equipped with spring fixed by its one end to inertia mass and installed with the possibility of compression under action of inertia mass in process of its motion in direction of cutting edge. In cavity wall there is groove arranged at the web side, in bottom part of which other end of spring is fixed.

EFFECT: invention provides for usage of kinetic energy in process of wood cutting.
