FIELD: means of protection.

SUBSTANCE: limiting device is used for clean-up operations of severe effects of uncontrolled fire spread in hazardous material storage silo located in closed section. Device contains connection pipeline, closed liquid-containing tank, fire protection system and liquid level control system. Tank includes at least one internal chamber directly interconnected with silo through the above connection pipeline, and at least one external chamber directly interconnected with closed section through at least one upper hole of the above tank.

EFFECT: in case of uncontrolled fire spread in hazardous material storage silo, invention excludes the possibility of hazardous materials penetration into atmosphere and ensures non-propagation of fire from silo to closed section.
