FIELD: money.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for counterfeit protection of banknotes, packages, stamps and commercial items. Hidden flakes, having one or several symbols and/or selected shape, are used in composition, such as printing dye or ink. Composition may include the main pigment and hidden pigment flakes, which comply with visual characteristics of the main pigment. In other versions transparent or non-transparent hidden flakes are mixed into carrier with the main pigment. Transparent or non-transparent hidden flakes may also be mixed into varnish base to create transparent composition, which may be applied over existing protective criterion. Hidden flakes are not easy to detect in process of accidental examination in visible light. Illumination of hidden protective criterion by ultraviolet light causes fluorescence of hidden flake, which makes it possible for user to identify its position. Hidden flakes, having one or several symbols, may also be detected with application of invisible radiation, and then symbol may be read on hidden flake in visible light.
EFFECT: invention provides for reliable counterfeit protection.
