SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions relates to automation technology, particularly to a radio module for field automation devices. The result is achieved due to that, the radio module is made with possibility of plug connection to the sensor electronic circuit of the field device through a traditional interface in the field device or a traditional digital switching output. The radio module has a microcontroller for functional control, a radio unit for exchanging data with a higher unit, a limited capacity power supply and a power supply control unit. Data exchange between the field device and the higher unit takes place through the radio module. The field device is exclusively powered through the radio module, and the power supply control unit is made with possibility of controlling power of separate components of the radio module and the field device such that, overall energy consumption of the field device and the radio module is minimal.
EFFECT: wider functional capabilities of the field device due to use of a radio module which also supplies the field device with power.
