FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to traumatology and orthopaedics and can be applied in treating acute ruptures of Achilles tendon. An upper ring of an external fixation apparatus is attached to tibial shaft on the border of its upper and middle thirds at musculotendinous transition of gastrocnemius muscle and fixed with two or three pins. A middle ring of the external fixation apparatus is applied at the proximal end of ruptured Achilles tendon and connected to two pins which are passed through tendon at distance 2-3 cm from distal edge of the proximal end of tendon. A lower ring of the external fixation apparatus is applied at calcaneal bone and fixed with two pins. A half ring is applied at metatarsal shaft and used to change the foot ankle-bend angle with a hinged mechanism provided between said half ring and the middle ring and rigidly fixed in the preset plantar-bend position. It is followed with traction of the proximal end of tendon by moving the middle ring towards the distal end of damaged Achilles tendon due to adjustable attachment of all three rings.

EFFECT: method allows providing vascularisation of tendon, reducing risk of necroses development.
