SUBSTANCE: application: for ultrasonic flaw detection of hot rolled metal. Device for ultrasonic flaw detection of hot rolled metal in process of rolling in one of several serially installed stands of rolling mill consists of at least two rollers that create gap between each other and are equipped with ultrasonic searching heads, which are arranged so that parts of roller body itself serve as track for passage of ultrasonic waves to rolled metal exposed to flaw detection in gap between rollers, at the same time rollers equipped with ultrasonic searching heads have straight transverse profile and diametre that exceeds width of gap between rollers several times to provide for larger gripping angle in process of rolling, besides rollers are installed in one of the first stands of rolling mill, and ultrasonic searching heads are located on side of annular ledge inverted to axis of rollers.
EFFECT: improved validity of hot rolled metal flaw detection results.
