SUBSTANCE: invention covers creation of an X-ray visible drug delivery device for subcutaneous introduction of a contraceptive or hormone replacement therapy, containing one branch consisting of (i) a kernel of thermoplastic polymer loaded with (a) contraceptive effective or therapeutically effective amount of desogestrel or 3-ketodesogestrel, and (b) approximately 4-30 wt % of X-ray contrast material, and (ii) coatings of thermoplastic polymer, covering the kernel and not containing a drug.
EFFECT: enhanced performance of the device.
