FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working, particularly, to production of pipes, sections and other products and can be used seamless pipes at whatever continuous lengthwise mills. Proposed method comprises deforming heated billets by grooved rollers at continuous rolling mill stand, feeding lubrication in solid packs and pressing them towards roller surface by coolant flow forced towards roller rotation. Coolant flow is fed onto roller work surface at stand inlet and outlet sides at a time. Arrangement to form coolant constant-pressure jet and feed lubricant pack is mounted on inlet of every stand. Coolant jet is directed at the angle of attack of 5° to 85° into roller groove apex. Coolant pressure on to lubricant packs are distributed among mill stands depending upon billet squeezing amount and that of oxide scale formation on roller section immediately ahead of lubricant packs.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance and mill efficiency.
