FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure of quenching casts out of alloy AK8M consists in heating to temperature of 515°C, in conditioning during 4 hours and cooling first with furnace at rate 60-90°C per hour to 410°C with holding during 1 minute, and further in water at temperature 90-100°C with holding 3 minutes and in water at temperature 20-30°C.
EFFECT: production of casts with decreased deformation upon quenching possessing increased plasticity and reliability.
