FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: deformograph consists of the following structural components: a body with a split bushing; bars whose one end is fixed in the split bushing, and the other is joined to a collet clamp; a photoelectric converter made in form of a metal screen with a rectangular opening at the centre, on one side of which a light-emitting diode is placed symmetrically with the opening, and on the other side there is a differential photocell; a "swallow tail" type device with movable and immovable parts; a reversible motor with a reducing gear; a recorder. A mounting frame is placed on the movable part of the "swallow tail" type device. A lever is suspended horizontally and parallel to the axis of the bar on two horizontal elastic threads of the mounting frame. The screen of the photoelectric converter is attached to the free end of the lever. The first pair of cylindrical permanent magnets is mounted parallel the axis of the bar on collet clamp through a rod. The second pair of magnets is attached to the elastic threads of the mounting frame perpendicular the axis of the bar and symmetrically about the threads. Magnets of each pair have the same moment and are turned 180° about each other with like poles. The free ends of the first pair of magnets lies opposite the ends of the second pair of magnets having the same polarity. A micrometric reading device is mounted on the movable part of the "swallow tail" type device through a support arm. The deformograph is also fitted with two coaxially placed springs, one end of which is joined to the lever and other to the "swallow tail" type device and the micrometric reading device respectively. Elastic moments of the springs are equal and are oppositely directed.
