FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: remote user interface (RUI) includes a background area and a tab of the screen area in the background area and has a display menu which enables control of the computer. Instructions from an application are sent to the tab of the screen area which can present one or more methods of presentation on the RUI from several presentation methods. Information is then sent to the tab of the screen area, where this information is embodied and constantly represented on the tab without change in the background which does not contain the tab of the screen area. Tab(s) can be one or more confined parts of the graphical user interface. The tab offers "picture in picture" functionalities for presenting video, image data, audio and other data presentations in a constantly browsed screen area which does not require the entire display device.
EFFECT: saving resources, increased efficiency and provision for multitask mode through display of one or more multimedia presentations in a part of the user interface.
