FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used when producing a stream which is rich in hydrogen. The method involves contact between a gas which contains carbon oxide and water, as well as dimethyl ether or a dimethyl ether/methanol mixture in at least a single conversion step in the presence of a dimethyl ether hydration catalyst which contains aluminosilicate zeolite, and a methanol decomposition catalyst which contains copper, zinc and aluminium.
EFFECT: invention enables use of catalysts which can work in a wide temperature interval.
