FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for obtaining ultrafine fibre with diametre equal to or less than 1 micrometre. The composite islands-in-the-sea fibre is formed by spinning at a rate of 100-1000 m/min at temperature higher than the glass-transition point of the polymer which forms the sea component and of the polymer which forms the island components. The composite moulded fibre is drawn with overall drawing ratio ranging from 20 to 100.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of making ultrafine fibre, having uniform diametre and consisting of filaments or short fibres of the same length.
