FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining non-metals in uranium materials and is of interest to scientific research and industrial laboratories of extraction, processing, enrichment and separation enterprises of the atomic industry. In the method of determining mass fraction of sulphur in uranium materials through inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry using high-resolution mass spectrometres, calibration solutions are prepared on distilled water. Content of uranium in the analysed sample solution and blank sample solution is set in the range 0 - 1 g/dm3 and mass fraction of sulphur is found from a calibration curve plotted in coordinates of sulphur signal intensity versus sulphur signal intensity in the blank sample - mass fraction of sulphur.
EFFECT: reduction of sulphur detection threshold to 10 mcg/g of uranium for uranium content in the solution of 1 g/dm3, cutting on time and labour input of the process of preparing calibration solutions, considerable reduction of pure uranium consumption.
