FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used to determine content of rare-earth elements (REE) in blood by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. For this purpose, a solution of nitric acid is added to a blood sample, a solution of internal indium standard is heated and introduced into the sample. Rare earth elements are yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium and lutetium. Concentrated nitric acid with density of 1.415 g/cm3 is used. Mixture is heated for 25–30 minutes at temperature 65–70 °C. Add 0.05 cm3 internal standard solution with weight concentration of indium comparison element 1,000 mcg/dm3 and 4.45 cm3 1 % nitric acid solution. Measurements are carried out in a reaction / collisional cell when helium is passed through it as a reactant gas at rate of 4.4 cm3/min. Content of specific REE is determined from a calibration curve.
EFFECT: invention increases sensitivity and accuracy of determining content REE in blood.
