WELL GAS SEISMIC VIBRATION SOURCE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01V1/133

Abstract RU 2388019 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to sources of seismic vibrations in wells. A gas seismic vibration source has a down-hole chamber, an igniter chamber, a solid piston body- actuating piston, distinguished by that it is fitted with an additional receiver with leeway necessary for several gas discharges. The down-hole chamber is formed from several cases joined together with radial exhaust windows, total area of each row of which is not less than area of the opening of the cross-section of the cases; between the butt end of the housing of the down-hole chamber and the bottom of the inner cavity of the actuating piston there is a spring-loaded plunger in the inner cavity of the piston and a cup under the butt end of the housing of the down-hole chamber, inside the composite housing there is pipe for carrying gas through the row of radial openings to the lower butt end of the shutter; between the composite housing and the upper cavity of the shutter there is a cavity joined to the receiver through an axial opening in an adapter and with the main exhaust cavity through the radial opening in the housing; this cavity also has in the bottom part a groove on the housing; the axial channel running along the central pipe of the housing is covered by a spring-loaded start valve; the receiver is rigidly attached to the housing of the down-hole chamber through the adapter and is made from three pipes of different diametre.

EFFECT: achieving maximum power of the seismic pulse due to increase of the exhaust area and volume of the working body; shorter exhaust time and consequently increase in power for all different parametres; no expensive compressor devices or other equipment for supplying and compressing are required in the well and therefore expenses on transportation and servicing are cut.
