FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in paint-and-varnish industry, in making plastic, ceramics and construction materials. The inorganic pigment based on metal sulphide which contains a rare-earth metal is a complex sulphide with general formula SnxCa1-xLa2-2XS4-2x where 0.005 ≤ x ≤ 0.4.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain pigments with wide range of colours from lemon-yellow to claret coloured, which retain their colour for a long period of time, are thermally stable and environmentally safe.
