FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: luminophors based on a complex silicate of rare-earth elements have stoichiometric formula SrY4(1-x)Eu4x(SiO4)3O, where 0.1≤x≤0.8. Method of producing said silicates involves preparation of an initial mixture of ingredients containing SrY4(SiO4)3O and SrEu4(SiO4)3O, taken in ratio of (0.2-0.9):(0.1-0.8), thorough mastication in the presence of ethanol, burning in air at temperature 1350-1450°C for 35-40 hours and grinding the mixture after 5 and 10 hours of burning.

EFFECT: obtaining luminophor with high luminous intensity in the red region and low intensity of orange luminescence, suitable for operation in air at normal pressure.
