FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: automatic rifle consists of barrel, breech frame and carrier block, and butt. It comprises recoil pulse damping system consisting of butt moving back-plate, two toothed different-length racks interacting with the help of two coupled different-diametre gear wheels, helical spring embracing longer toothed rack, spring-loaded retainer with one end engaging with the ledge on longer toothed rack rear end and another end coupled with sear by link. Ratio between diametres of gear wheels makes at least 1:2. Shorter toothed rack rear end is secured to butt moving back-plate. Mutual arrangement of toothed racks positions said helical spring at maximum contraction around longer toothed rack during fire.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of hits.
