FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of lower olefins from non-oil material and a catalyst for realising the said method. Describe is a catalyst for synthesis of lower olefins from dimethyl ether with the following ratio of components, in wt %: zinc oxide 1.0-2.0 or zirconium oxide 0.5-0.8, or lanthanum metal oxide 0.5-0.8, or their two-component mixtures 1.0-1.5, aluminium oxide 33.0-34.0, rhodium or ruthenium 0.1-0.5, pentasil zeolite with SiO2\ Al2O3=25-30 and content of not more than 0.11 wt %, sodium hydroxide - the rest. Described also is a method for synthesis of lower olefins from a mixture containing up to 20 vol. % dimethyl ether and inert gases which include N2, CO+H2 and H2O - the rest, at high temperature and pressure in the presence of the zeolite catalyst described above.
EFFECT: catalyst is obtained, having high selectivity towards olefins, mainly towards the most valuable C2-C3 fraction while preserving its high activity and stability during synthesis of olefins from a mixture of methanol with dimethyl ether, with not less than 20% content of the latter.
