FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: liquid propellant engine (LPE) includes chamber with nozzle insert, insert retaining and removal mechanism arranged in chamber nozzle and interacting with mating points of nozzle and insert, turbine-pump unit, control units. Insert retaining and removal mechanism is made in the form of trapezoidal segments installed between insert and nozzle, and interacting with mating points of nozzle and insert; at that, smaller base of trapezoidal segments faces minimum section of chamber, and larger one - the nozzle section, and by means of discontinuous rods it is connected to mating points for attachment of insert to nozzle header; at that, mating points of insert are made in the form of alternating equally spaced projections the external side of which is cone-shaped and shaped, with diametre decreasing towards the nozzle section, and which repeats the shape of mating part of trapezoidal segment.
EFFECT: decreasing dimensions and weight and improving operating reliability.
