FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in filling measuring cell out of dielectric material with investigated electro-insulating fluid. The cell is mounted on a conducting base. Further, the procedure consists in loading an electrode of a needle shape into investigated fluid, in feeding electrode with high direct voltage of electric field relative to the conducting base to facilitate polarisation of high voltage in fluid. Also the procedure consists in successive recording and analysis of electric signals of high voltage re-polarisation appearing on the electrode after testing voltage relief. "Pure" electro-insulating fluids are characterised with smooth change of re-polarisation voltage curve, while fluids containing impurities are characterised with occurrences of re-polarisation voltage surges conditioned by internal charges of high voltage re-polarisation zones.
EFFECT: facilitating diagnostics of electro-insulating fluids at high values of voltage of constant electric field causing occurrences of high voltage polarisation for revealing changes of fluid structure composition and contents of foreign impurities with small volumes of samples.
