FIELD: metrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation and can be used for proximate analysis of carbon-based liquid dielectrics. The method consists in feeding a build-up amplitude voltage to test cell electrodes. The first break-down at Ubv1 over, a dielectric plate is arranged in the electrode gap, the voltage lower than the plate break-down voltage but over the tested liquid electrode break-down voltage is fed to the electrodes and kept up for 20 to 30 sec. Now the plate is removed from the gap to feed voltage to the electrodes till the tested dielectric liquid break-down at Ubv2, that is taken for a break-down voltage. The device to this effect is made up of the test cell, a step-up transformer, control circuits, a break-down signal shaper, a voltage doubling circuit, a scaling circuit, a meter, a sawtooth voltage generator, four keys, a timer, an OR circuit, an electromagnet, a current limiter, a dielectric material plate.
EFFECT: lower labor input, higher accuracy of tests, contaminant composition diagnostics.
