FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: under the method for treatment of drilling fluid containing water-soluble silicic acid salts the fluid is charged into the well prior to opening a productive stratum; prior to opening a productive stratum a marginally soluble calcium salt such as calcium sulphate digydrate is added to the fluid, the required salt amount calculated from the formula: 
where: mx - weight of the marginally soluble calcium salt required for removal of silicates from the fluid, g; 
- total content of silicates in the fluid in terms of metasilicate-ion, g/dm3; Mrx - molecular weight of the marginally soluble calcium salt; V - drilling liquid volume, dm3.
EFFECT: exclusion of secondary mudding due to removal of the silicates added to the drilling fluid immediately prior to opening a productive stratum which enhances the well debit.
