FIELD: physics, communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering. The first approach path (FAP) and the last approach path (LAP) are detected based on estimation of the pulse characteristic of the communication channel. Detected FAP and LAP can be correct or presented, so as to allow ambiguity in the detected FAP and LAP, a first hypothesis is assessed, which corresponds to correct detection of FAP and LAP, and a second hypothesis, which corresponds to inaccurate detection of FAP and LAP. Hypothetical FAP and LAP are determined for each hypothesis based on the detected FAP and LAP. The correlation window is determined based on the hypothetical FAP and LAP and correlation is carried out using the correlation window. The correct hypothesis is determined based on correlation results for two hypotheses. Synchronisation in the receiver resumes based on hypothetical FAP and LAP for the correct hypothesis and is used for demodulation.
EFFECT: provision for temporary tracking in a receiver for accurate placement of a FFT window.
